About Jane Foreman Designs

I have been an artist and entrepreneur for a large portion of my life.  My passion for art began as a little girl. I remember many weekends spent making the latest craft with my mom, who has always been my inspiration. I took sewing lessons, which I claim as an invaluable skill!  In my teens, I took many high school art classes where I learned to draw, paint, sculpt and use a potter’s wheel.  In college I continued to create through more art classes.

Prior to owning my own business, I served as a teacher for the Des Moines Public Schools’ Adult Education Program where I taught jewelry making and wood burning.

Jane Foreman Designs was founded in 2009.  I began using lead-free solder (now I use anodized aluminum wire) to create necklaces and earrings.  From there, my work has expanded into home décor items including canvases with inspirational sayings and Biblical references.

Art Happy, my other business is located in Grimes, Iowa where I share studio space with three other artists.  We have a small gift shop/showroom featuring seven local artist’s work, and also a classroom where classes and parties are held.

I have been married to my husband, Tim for 23 years.  Together we have two college-age sons and two rescued dogs.
